When assessing their existing system we found it was already at a very high standard, however that there was one obvious addition to be made; CCTV.

Closed-circuit-television (CCTV) consists of video cameras that constantly record footage for reference at a later date. Surveillance of the public using CCTV is common in many areas around the world, and has been in use for many years. Recent advancements in camera, recording and playback technology have seen an increase in the use of CCTV, particularly with the introduction of body-worn cameras used in law enforcement, as well as vehicle-mounted cameras used by the general public.

While CCTV has been around for a long time, traditional systems have been limited in their capacity and impractical when it came to accessing footage. Limitations in hard drive (or video tape) capacity has meant that the recording period was limited to a day or two before being re-written or needing to be archived. Accessing recorded footage meant painstakingly scrolling through hours and hours of footage, a process that could easily lead to important information being overlooked. Blurry and unusable footage resulting from the camera sensor's lack of ability to handle low-light or distances greater than a few meters, meant that once footage was finally located, it was often unusable.

Things have changed. CCTV systems today are far more sophisticated than traditional systems, with technology advancing every day. After extensively researching appropriate CCTV hardware and software options for Cycle2, we recommended a range of Provision-ISR products that presented excellent performance and convenience coupled with sound value for money.
